Licensed by the State of New Hampshire to work on natural gas and propane appliances, including boilers, furnaces and wall hung units. You can look the number up.

NH Oil Heating Technician
Licensed for oil fired heating equipment, burners and oil tanks. Southern New Hampshire runs on both fuels, and plenty of contractors are licensed for only one.

EPA Section 608
Federally certified to handle refrigerant, which is what every mini split, heat pump and central air system runs on. It is required by law, and it is worth checking.

Both New Hampshire license numbers are on the state's public register. Search the name, read the status, and take about thirty seconds to confirm that the person quoting your job holds the license he says he holds.
Look up a license with the State of New HampshireEPA Section 608 is a federal certification card rather than a state register entry, so ask to see it. Any technician who touches refrigerant is required to hold one.

A weld passes inspection or it does not. There is no partial credit, nowhere to hide it behind a panel, and no coming back in three years to explain why it opened up. Every flare, every braze and every hanger on an HVAC job gets that same eye.

The work

Same coil, same visit. A season of leaf litter, seed debris and road grit packs the fins solid, the system runs at high head pressure all summer to move the same heat, and the electric bill goes up every month while the compressor works harder than it was built to. This is what a yearly cleaning is actually for.
